My Philosophy

Spending a decade living in northern California has a very meaningful impact on my perspective in food. I believe good food is not necessary to be complicated, and true desert recipes are simply brief and inviting. Authentic ingredients plays such a big part in my cooking philosophy because they simply taste great! My patisserie menu is basically a collection of simple, ingredient-driven recipes that are made from fresh, organic, sustainable and natural foods.

I always say it proudly that I am self taught, with a passion of experimenting with new flavors, getting my palette pampered. I could be caught at 2 in the morning kneading a bread dough, or improvising with different ingredients, exploring different food cultures, cooking in my kitchen... obsessing...

It was the time during my study at Cal Berkeley (Go Bears!) pursuing my architecture degree, where I learn to become an advocate of Californian cuisine -- cooking with freshest, seasonal and pure ingredients with simple approach. Alice Waters and Chez Panisse, where it becomes such an inspiration for me. And such inspiration has strengthened my belief of people like you still believing in a heart warming kitchen and handmade food!
